Stuff is searching for an experienced and enthusiastic journalist with a love of the automotive to help us continue the evolution of the country's No1 motoring news website.
We are open-minded as to how this role might develop, so haven't set too many conditions around who might be the ideal candidate.
However, suffice to say your reporting and writing skills will be high-calibre, with the ability and determination to tell stories in ways that appeal to the widest possible audience, using the full array of digital story-telling techniques. You will demonstrate a particular willingness to experiment and innovate around how you tackle the subject matter.
You don't necessarily need to come from a motor writing background. But you should know your way around a car, understand the workings of the automotive industry as well as what lies under the bonnet, and be up to the minute in your knowledge of the innovation and disruption at play in that industry.
You'll be comfortable dealing with the various competing demands on your time, including working closely with our commercial team. You'll be someone who takes the lead, brings a positive and constructive approach to work, takes the initiative and is able to respond quickly and willingly to the requirements of each day.
Benefits of working with us include:
- Medical insurance
- A generous parental leave policy for any employees that are the primary or secondary carer
- Staff discounts on renowned papers and magazines including NZ House and Garden
- Working for a company with a strong social purpose - Faces of Innocents, Bags Not campaign, Buy a Beach, Member of Climate Leaders Coalition, Investigative pieces, Champions for Change
